Learn about Physical Literacy:

Ontario Trillium Foundation

The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Government of Ontario. Last year, OTF awarded $108 million dollars to 629 projects across the province. The mission of OTF is to build healthy and vibrant communities throughout Ontario by investing in community-based initiatives and strengthening the impact of Ontario’s non-profit sector.

Play in Peel strives to promote a lifetime of physical activity by improving children’s physical literacy. Physical literacy is the gateway to physical activity and provides significant benefits such as improved physical and emotional wellbeing, cognitive performance and overall good health. It provides the building blocks required to participate in physical activities across the lifespan.

Through our work in Peel’s diverse communities, members and supporters of Play in Peel are helping children learn the fundamental movement skills to be active for life.
